Mouse, rat, and some rabbit isolated skeletal elements (e.g., femur, tibia, spine) can be scanned using µCT and measured to separately evaluate cancellous and cortical architectural properties, including trabecular bone volume fraction (BV/TV), trabecular number (Tb.N), thickness (Tb.Th), separation (Tb.Sp), volumetric density (vBMD), and cortical parameters such as bone area (BA), total area (TA), and cortical thickness (Ct.Th)
Specific Region of Interest (ROI) analysis can be customized to evaluate defined sub-portions of each region (diaphyseal, metaphyseal, epiphyseal)
